VALENTINE’S SPECIAL: 6 HABITS FOR FLAWLESS SKIN

6 HABITS FOR FLAWLESS SKIN

Valentine ’s Day is just around the corner and you definitely want to look our best self on this day of love. Everybody has made plans whether single or with your special someone. The thing about looking good is that it makes you feel good from within.

‘If you look good, you feel good and if you feel good you do good.’

So, when the love is in the air, we just want to ensure that you love your skin too. These are our favourite skin care tips which guarantee you a healthy skin & a subtle shine.

1. Keep calm & drink water
Water! Water! Water! It will never be enough, no matter how much we emphasize the importance of drinking water for a spotless and beautiful skin. As we age, our skin loses water (Transepidermal water loss) and by keeping our water intake up we ensure that our skin does not get dehydrated and wrinkled over time and appears supple and soft.

2. You are what you eat
Our body is like a machine, if it doesn’t get good fuel it is definitely going to cause problems. For a dazzling skin like never before include antioxidants such as strawberries, beetroot, tomatoes and dark chocolate in your diet. Junk food surely is tempting but it does a lot of bad to your skin. So we suggest avoiding oily and junk foods. You can always gorge on fresh vegetable and fruits whenever you want.

3. Enjoy the Sunshine but don’t forget the sunscreen
Whether it is a sunny day or a romantic cloudy one, you should never ever skin applying a sunscreen on all the body parts which are exposed to sun. As any and every skin specialist would prescribe wearing a sunscreen shall not be skipped if you want to protect yourself from the harmful UV rays of Sun. If you’re planning to go on a brunch or a lunch date, please don’t forget to generously apply a sunscreen with an SPF above 30 and a PA +++ on the label. If you don’t know what PA+++ is, let us tell you that PA stands from Protection against UVA and the + signs indicate the level of protection while SPF is protection against UVB.

4. Cosmetics from your kitchen
Did you know you have natural cosmetics in your kitchen that too in abundance? Using natural skin care products clearly has two benefits: one, that you don’t have to burn a hole in your pocket and two, there are no side effects. You can use sugar as a body scrub, coconut oil as a deep conditioner for hair and dry skin, baking soda as an amazing teeth whitener, cold tea bags for eye puffiness, oatmeal as an exfoliating face wash, papaya as a hydrating face mask, apple cider vinegar for pore tightening, and the list is endless.

5. Every Princess needs her Beauty Sleep
Getting enough sleep every night brings along a number of health benefits. Sleep deprivation adversely affects your appearance, for e.g. dark circles. Your skin rejuvenates itself when you sleep by producing new collagen. Getting inadequate sleep can lead to reduce blood flow to the skin and also activates the stress cycle leading to activation of various unwanted chemicals released in the skin (cytokines) which can lead to subclinical damage, fine lines, wrinkles and even acne.

6. Good things come to those who sweat
Morning exercise is a great way to begin your day with. It has overall health benefits but staying physically active allows you to sweat and release the toxins from your body. Exercise increases blood flow, prevents excess fat to accumulate on your body and makes you feel calm and composed. Any form of exercise be it yoga, running, dancing or gym is essential for you to stay fit and glowing.

May you keep glowing and feeling loved not just on Valentine’s Day but every single day. For any queries or skin care treatment consultation kindly write to us at info@drkandhariclinic.com.
