Pulp therapy (pulpotomy) is the treatment of teeth’s infected nerves and blood vessels. Pulp therapy is mostly suggested in following two cases: either in case of excessive tooth decay due to cavities or in case of tooth injury. It can lead to pain, swelling, infection and teeth loss if no proper treatment is done on time. We at Dr Kandhari’s skin and dental clinic know that many cavities may be so deep that they extend to the nerve, often causing pain and discomfort. When this happens, we believe that all attempts should be made to save the tooth for this, the infected nerve needs to be removed. Only the part which is infected is removed so as to keep the rest of the nerve which is healthy. The intention of a pulp therapy is to maximize the life of baby teeth to avoid tooth/teeth extraction until they grow permanent teeth.
